Junior Lynx Qualify Three Teams for North American Finals
THURSDAY AUGUST 6, 2009(TORONTO, CANADA) The Toronto Lynx Soccer Club announced today that three of its Junior Lynx teams have qualified for the Super Y-League (SYL) North American finals to be contested in Tampa, Florida this coming November. All three squads qualified from the very competitive Midwest Division of the SYL, which recently wrapped up its regular season.
"Seeing three teams advance to the North American Finals is our greatest
achievement as an Academy and SYL program. stated Academy Director Duncan
Wilde. "We will be taking our U16 and U17 Boys to the tournament, along with our
U17 Girls. This is the first time one of our girls teams has reached the
finals, and were very proud of that milestone.
The teams will spend the rest of the summer and the fall training program
preparing for the finals tournament. The teams will supplement their regular
training schedule with entry into several high-profile American tournaments and
college showcase events to prepare for the event. Full details of the program

FALL OPEN TRYOUTS BEGIN THIS WEEKEND
In an ongoing effort to showcase the Junior Lynx programs and attract quality
players to the Academy, open tryouts will once again be contested throughout the
month of August during regular Academy training times. Interested players and
parents are invited to visit the Junior Lynx web site for further details and

The trials will commence this weekend at the field turf facility at Downsview
Park at the following times:
Boys born 1995/96 Sunday 2:00 PM 4:00 PM
Girls born 1992/93/94 Sunday 2:00 PM 4:00 PM
Boys born 1992/93/94 Sunday 4:00 PM 6:00 PM
